Keto Vinyasa Day 25

Keto Vinyasa Day 25

This is the 25th day of my keto/incremental vinyasa flow.

(Funny that I remember I was on number 21 for my birthday on November 24...lol)

Vinyasa

I started doing vinyasa every day, and increasing every day. The goal is to get up to 108, and then perhaps walk down?

I originally planned modulo 4, so day 1 I did 4, day 2 I did 8, and then...I started getting a sore back.

Now I am at an increase of 1 per day, and this is the 25th day, so 25 vinyasas for the day, and they are done!

Keto

At the same time, I started doing keto, not knowing how but always feeling like my body has a history of reacting favorably to high-protein diets. I definitely felt the Tiger's Blood on Whole 30.

Yet! It's really high fat more than high protein...

How to Eat More FAT?!?!?

Unexpected Excitement

Though I haven't made the chocolate chips yet from the photo, the fudge was the bomb!

I have done two different types of keto bread, which were fantastic.

And I'm planning to try the pancakes soon!

Fat Fasting

Fat fasting involves significantly reducing calorie intake and eating a diet consisting almost entirely of fat for no more than 2 or 3 days.

Healthful Fats

  • coconut oil
  • olive oil
  • avocados and avocado oil
  • flaxseed oil

Rules

Diets

  • Standard ketogenic diet (SKD): 70% fat, 20% protein, 10% carbohydrates

  • Cyclical ketogenic diet (CKD): This diet involves periods of higher-carbohydrates in between the ketogenic diet cycles, for example, five ketogenic days followed by two high-carbohydrate days as a cycle.

  • Targeted ketogenic diet (TKD): This diet permits adding additional carbohydrates around the periods of the intensive physical workout.

  • High-protein ketogenic diet (HPKD): 60% fat, 35% protein, 5% carbohydrates

  • Prudent: 25-30% fat, 20-25% protein, 50% carbohydrate "For Indians, it appears that it would be most prudent to have a diet with about 50 per cent carbohydrate (using complex carbs and whole grains such as brown rice or whole wheat) about 20-25 per cent protein (preferably from vegetable proteins such as legumes and pulses) and the remaining 25-30 per cent from healthy fats like monounsaturated fats (e.g. groundnut oil or mustard oil and nuts and seeds) along with plenty of green leafy vegetables. Such a diet may not immediately give dramatic results as far as weight reduction is concerned. However, it will be sustainable in the long term and will be less risky and certainly more healthy and also help prevent non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and certain cancers."

Recipes

I have been using the air fryer for much of the keto cooking, including chicken tenders, which is: Carbs 30g protein 82g fat 132g

I have not paid for the keto custom plan, but I can see the advantage of their system. They even provide a shopping list which is pretty nifty.

Separation Anxiety

EXERCISE Bike to and from Marine Park Kirtan

The people and singing at Marine Park Kirtan were wonderful, once again. I brought an altar space, with Hanuman and Ganesha on a little hippy cloth.

One of our friends was sad, yet she stayed and played to the Gods and Goddesses...such a powerful soul.

And when I got home, actually, even on the bike home, I started falling down the well a bit.

Reminded me of when I was with some friends in the car and I realized how I always wanted to be dropped off last, to be the last part of the multi-person creation we had been.

So I missed the beautiful kirtan vibe, and then, I had some cravings, because you know...feed those feelings...so I ordered pick up from Harvey's

Then two different sets of friends reached out to me in text, so I felt a little more loved. Thanks, sweet beings out there, who really do care.

Yeah, I probably should have ordered after I checked my messages...might have been a salad in there.

Feeling the Swirling Inside

"Whatever he does, if he does it for the sake of finding his own real self, will surely bring him to himself." - Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

10:20am AWAKEN

I woke up earlier, and have been meditating in bed.

This is the watching, the feeling of the swirling inside. Such an amazing symphony of memory and reaction, sensation throughout.

I turned to "I AM THAT", which sits on the bedside stand, and found this quote.

I am looking forward to Marine Park Kirtan today at 3pm, and sharing the little gifts to the Gods.

It has gotten colder, and the gas springs on the arms that keep the iMac elevated have drooped down to the desk. It's funny how frustrating I find this, in that I think about fixing it, yet do not want to open the closet, pull down the box, grab the hex key, tighten the screw, and return the hex key and box to the closet...

And there! It's done! (Of course, to tighten the gas spring, you go CCW, or what is typically loosening - HA!)

  • Bad Ass Ketchup

Tangerine Vegan Pesto

Tangerine Vegan Pesto
  • 2 tangerines
  • 1 Package TJ’s Organic Basil
  • 1 bulb of garlic
  • 1 white onion (though any color will do...)
  • 2 lemons
  • 1/4 cup organic olive oil
  • 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1 tsp lemongrass salt (or any salt) to taste
  • sprinkle white pepper to taste

Wash the basil, peel the onion and all the garlic cloves.

Cut the onion into fourths. Separate the garlic cloves into 2 equal piles.

Put basil, 1 fourth of the onion, 1 of the garlic clove piles, nutritional yeast into the blender. (That order works best for keeping the yeast up and blending nicely.)

Chop the remaining 3 fourths of the onion. Chop the remaining garlic clove piles.

Pour the olive oil into a pan, simmer at medium-low.

Add the chopped onions and garlic to the oil in the pan, simmer until shiny and soft (5 - 10 minutes, stirring occasionally)

While the onions and garlic are simmering, squeeze the juice of the tangerines and lemons into the blender.

Then add the pine nuts to the onion-garlic-oil mix, and simmer until the pine nuts turn golden (~5 minutes, stirring occasionally)

Once the pine nuts are golden lovely perfect, lift the pan and pour the pinenut-onion-garlic-olive oil into the blender.

Cover up the blender, and blend as a dip (start slow and gradually build up)

MEDIA Prime: Karakuri Circus S1E1 The Curtain Rises

This lovely little show has circuses and puppets, which led to solidifying ghosts...which, strangely, seems to tie to Terminator: Dark Fate, and the dual-Terminator, skeletal robot and liquid metal form.

11:54am CONTACT

A friend called to invite me over for goulash (which I always want to write as "ghoulash"...perhaps for Halloween?)

She also told me about her cats, and how pumpkin is good for firming up their soft stools since they were de-flea-d, and that she had another friend who had some pumpkin that she had left out hanging on her fence near Helm's Bakery to be picked up for the cat's eventual consumption.

I live pretty near to Helm's Bakery, yes?

And it's true: Cardiff is just a few blocks to Helm's Bakery.

I often bike past and through there...

I worked in the complex, at a little startup called JumpTime, which got acquired by OpenX, which company I had just joined after leaving JumpTime, ironically.

3:30pm

I have totally been thinking all day about having another set of Air-Fried Chicken Sliders...they are just soooo amazing!

So I distracted myself with some cooking in the kitchen!

Made Tangerine Vegan Pesto, and gathered 8 little jars to bring to Marine Park Kirtan tomorrow as an offering to the Gods
